Gov. Greg Abbott has made two new appointments and one reappointment to the Texas Tech University (TTU) System Board of Regents. All appointment terms will expire Jan. 31, 2031.
Doug McReaken is the first appointment to the board. McReaken currently works as chief operating officer and executive vice president of a business management consultant company. He is also president of several family-owned businesses. He serves as a board member for Kappa Sigma Texas Tech Southwest Education Fund and volunteers with the Houston Livestock Show and Pearland Lions Club. McReaken earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in management from TTU.
The second appointment – Donald Sinclair – spent four decades in the energy industry. Sinclair currently serves on the Board of Directors for two energy companies. He is an officer and senior member of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, as well a part of the TTU Bob L. Herd Academy of Petroleum Engineering. Sinclair previously served as chairman of the TTU Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and the Texas Tech Foundation Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from TTU.
Dustin Womble is the sole reappointment to the board, having originally been appointed in 2019. Before joining the Board of Regents, Womble was a member of the Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and the executive committee of the Texas Tech Foundation. He previously served as chairman of the Facilities Committee. Womble also serves on the BIG XII Advisory Board and Lubbock Christian School Board. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration in management information systems from TTU.
