Our Team

Kirk Clennan brings more than 20 years of economic and community development experience to the SPI Team. 

His emphasis on retention and expansion of existing business, recruitment of prospective business, and entrepreneurial development have been grounded in the fundamentals of marketing, public relations, land planning, data resource management, networking, and communications. 

Nine communities have been served through the years during which more than 50 companies were retained, expanded, or relocated. Kirk’s award-winning efforts led to the creation of approximately 1,000 jobs and direct investment of more than $300 million. His success was a result of collaborative efforts between public and private sector leadership and sound, practical data resource management. 

Kirk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas State University in San Marcos and a Master of Science degree with a focus on Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also holds numerous continuing education certifications related to economic development through the International Economic Development Council. 

SPI clients will benefit not only from his experience and knowledge, but also from the decades Kirk spent working at the intersection of public and private sector negotiations.
