Gina Fiandaca has led impactful initiatives in the public sector, serving as Commissioner of Transportation in Boston, Assistant City Manager in Austin, and Secretary and CEO of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. In Austin, she partnered with the US Department of Transportation to reshape project planning for the $22 billion Mobility Program and oversaw departments like Water Utility, Transportation, Public Works, and Aviation. Her leadership was crucial in the successful proposal for a transit system and the formation of the Austin Transit Partnership.

As Secretary and CEO of MassDOT, Gina leveraged federal funding for transportation projects, implemented the Work and Family Mobility Act benefiting 200,000 new drivers, achieved an 18% staff wage increase, and addressed Federal Transit Administration safety directives at the MBTA. She secured FAA approval for drone inspections, managed the $160 million Sumner Tunnel Rehabilitation and $71 million I-90 Allston Viaduct repair projects, and advanced environmental goals by securing funding for hybrid-electric and battery-electric buses, including 80 new battery electric buses for the MBTA.
