Duane Arbogast

Prior to joining the Strategic Partnerships Team, Duane Arbogast served as a respected leader in the field of education.

Duane pioneered educational coursework when he served Prince George’s County Public Schools as chief academic officer and later as acting deputy superintendent for academics. Prior to that, he served for 32 years in the Anne Arundel County Public School System. Over three decades, Duane enjoyed a sequence of promotions that ultimately propelled him from the role of teacher to that of senior manager for academic accountability.

In a related educational field, Duane served as chief of strategy and innovation for a child-serving nonprofit organization. In that role, he was directly responsible for the creation and widescale roll-out of new educational programming.

Throughout the years, Duane’s instructional leadership resulted in proven academic growth in the communities where he served. His work in reforming and modernizing traditional methods of teacher evaluation, compensation, central office organization, and equitable student funding gained him the reputation of an innovator of instructional models. He was honored by being named as a Washington Post Distinguished Leader for his work as an elementary school principal.

Duane earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Doctor of Education in education policy from the University of Maryland College Park.

The SPI Team welcomes Duane and looks forward to working with him.
