Chris Steubing
The SPI Team welcomes Christopher Steubing as a new consultant. Christopher brings a wealth of experience, with over 26 years in diverse roles across city, county, and private sectors. His career includes significant positions such as assistant city manager, city engineer, county engineer, director of public works, and regional construction manager at a petroleum company. His broad expertise encompasses city management, bond program development and execution, engineering, program and project management, alternative project delivery methods, performance management, process workflow improvement, and operations management.
Chris received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and became a professional engineer in 2002. He also holds a certification in Floodplain Management and completed the LBJ School of Public Affairs Public Executive Institute in 2016. He worked in the North Texas area for a petroleum company and several cities as well as Denton County before moving into the Houston region where he spent just over 16 years with the city of Sugar Land.
Chris has extensive experience in local government operations and has held leadership positions in multiple organizations. He is passionate about public service and committed to improving the quality of life for residents and stakeholders. Chris served as the assistant city manager and chief operating officer in Sugar Land, where he provided executive leadership for the Enterprise Resource Program and supervised several departments, showcasing his broad expertise in community development and management.
