Nvidia expands U.S. manufacturing with $500B Texas investment

April 25, 2025

Semiconductor manufacturer Nvidia announced it will expand production with two new plants in Houston and Dallas. The expansion marks the first time Nvidia will produce artificial intelligence supercomputers entirely in the U.S.

The two new plants will build parts for AI supercomputers designed to power AI-processing data centers. The plants will also be used to test semiconductor chips manufactured in Arizona. Nvidia will use its own technologies to design and operate the facilities, including creating digital twins of factories and advanced robotics to automate manufacturing.

Production at both plants is expected to reach mass capacity in the next 12-15 months, and NVIDIA plans to manufacture up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the U.S. over the next four years. The increased production will help meet a growing demand for AI infrastructure and strengthen the national supply chain.

The new plants are expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and strengthen the U.S. position as a global leader in AI technology.
