Gov. Abbott makes new appointment, reappointments to TAMU System Board of Regents

The Texas A&M University (TAMU) System Board of Regents will welcome a new member and two reappointments. Gov. Greg Abbott announced the appointments on Feb. 26. 2025. All terms are set to expire Feb. 1, 2031.

Kelley Sullivan Georgiades is the latest appointment to the board. Sullivan Georgiades currently works as executive vice president of a company specializing in environmental remediation, disaster recovery, health, construction, infrastructure and industrial services.

She is also a board member for several associations, including the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the TAMU Medical Branch Health Development Council and the TAMU Press. Sullivan Georgiades holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from TAMU.

Jay Graham has been reappointed to the board. Originally appointed in 2019, Graham serves as chairman of the Committee on Finance and as a member of the Committee on Academic and Student Affairs. He is also chairman and CEO of an oil and gas assets company, the culmination of 28 years in the energy sector.

Graham formerly served on TAMU’s Petroleum Engineering Advisory Council, Chancellors Century Council and 12th Man Foundation Board of Trustees. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from TAMU.

The final reappointment is Mike Hernandez, the owner and CEO of a leasing company and multiple car dealerships. He is the founder of the Hernandez Foundation and the Brownsville Scholars Program. Hernandez is also a current member of the National Automobile Dealers Association, National Vehicle Leasing Association, Texas Automobile Dealers Association, Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate and Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s Advisory Committee on Workforce Training. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from TAMU.
