DIR forms artificial intelligence center
The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) announced the formation of the Texas Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence on December 2.
The center’s primary goals are to accelerate innovation and adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
DIR officials said the new center will support state and local governments and public colleges and universities in the exploration of AI technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and contact center technologies.
The center’s primary objective will be to educate and promote emerging AI innovations to improve government services securely and efficiently.
It will leverage the knowledge of DIR experts and key industry partners to develop AI skills in state agencies’ information technology leaders. This educational effort encourages collaboration and innovation to expedite solutions for the public sector.
