Robert “Bobby” Jenkins, Jr. has been appointed as the presiding officer of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. His term will end Feb. 1, 2027.
The authority is a subdivision that enables transportation, planning and project delivery leaders to collaborate with the state on delivering transportation infrastructure projects in Williamson and Travis Counties.
Jenkins is the current owner of a company that provides home and commercial services. He has overseen the company since 1983, totaling nearly 42 years. Aside from his business, he previously served as chairman and remains a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
At one point in his career, Jenkins was the gubernatorial appointee and chair of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. In addition, he currently holds a seat on the executive committee of the Texas Business Leadership Council and serves as a board member of several community organizations. These include:
- The Texas Higher Education Foundation.
- United Way of Greater Austin.
- The Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Foundation.
- Alzheimer’s Texas.
- The American Heart Association.
Jenkins has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Texas A&M University.
