Intern – Newsletter Assistant

Overview

As part of our mission to provide exclusive insights into the U.S. government marketplace, SPI publishes a widely respected national digital newsletter on a weekly basis. Additionally, our Government Market News platform delivers daily industry updates at www.govmarketnews.com.

We are seeking a Paid Intern to support our news and consulting teams. The ideal candidate will be skilled in research, writing, and communication, with an interest in government and business intersections. Must be available to start the first week of May.

This is a part time position – approximately 20 hours/wk. 

$15-17/hr DOE

Experience & Skills

Research: The ability to use social media, email, place phone calls and use other channels to gather information. Not a requirement – but Al skills would be notable along with an eagerness to learn about the intersection of business and government. 

Communication: Excel at both written and verbal communication. 

Attention to detail: The ability to consider the audience and focus on information that is of high value and be willing to dig deeper when necessary to find even more value in info that is available. 

Scripting: The ability to write newsletter content that covers all the basics. 

Collaboration: The ability to work well with others and enjoy working with a team. 

Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances as priorities are not always the same. 

Journalism or content writing: 2 years (preferred, but not required).

Communication or research-related work: 2 years (preferred).
